PLA presents readers’ advisory webinar with Nancy Pearl on July 19
At 1 p.m. CDT on July 19, the Public Library Association (PLA) will host a webinar with Nancy Pearl, “Dive into a Good Book: Great Summer Reads to Recommend to Your Patrons.” The webinar will benefit library staff specializing in readers’ advisory and will feature a “read alike” section as well as a downloadable handout of the highlighted books. Combine Pearl’s irrepressible charm and undeniable knowledge and you’ll have an hour-long webinar of fun and great ideas.

Cost to attend the webinar is $28 (PLA Members), $31.50 (ALA Members) and $35 (Nonmembers). Groups of any size can register for $129. Click here for more information and to register for the webinar.

The New York Times calls Nancy Pearl “the talk of librarian circles.” She speaks to library and community groups across the country and regularly recommends books on Public Radio International’s Morning Edition, as well as on many public radio station programs. She entertains and informs standing-room only crowds and has even had a librarian action figure modeled in her likeness.

A winner of the 2004 Women’s National Book Association Award, Pearl is also the author of

“Book Crush: For Kids and Teens – Recommended Reading for Every Mood, Moment, and Interest”;

“Book Lust: Recommended Reading for Every Mood, Moment, and Interest”;

“More Book Lust: 1,000 New Reading Recommendations for Every Mood, Moment, and Interest”; and

The newly released “Book Lust to Go: Recommended Reading for Travelers, Vagabonds, and Dreamers.”
