An annual program of the Kohl’s Corporation, the Kohl’s ‘Kids Who Care’ Scholarship Program recognizes and rewards young volunteers (ages 6 to 18) across the United States for their inspiring contributions to their communities. This year the program will recognize more than two thousand young people with more than $415,000 in total scholarships and prizes.
Nominations should describe how the student has contributed to the community in a meaningful way by performing volunteer services that helped non-family members. The volunteer activity must have occurred within the last twelve months (March 15, 2010 to March 15, 2011). The student’s volunteer efforts should be above and beyond what is expected of a child his or her age. Financial need or academic performance will not be considered in the review and selection of winners.
Nomination forms must be submitted online by a nominator who is 21 years of age or older.
Winners selected at the store level will each receive a $50 Kohl’s gift card, regional winners will each be awarded a $1,000 scholarship for post-secondary education, and national winners will each be awarded a total of $10,000 in scholarships for post-secondary education. In addition, Kohl’s will donate $1,000 to a nonprofit organization on each national winner’s behalf.
