The American Library Association (ALA) is seeking to fill the position of Executive Director for the Association of Specialized and Cooperative Library Agencies (ASCLA) and the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA), divisions of ALA, with a combined membership of over 6,000. The ASCLA-RUSA Executive Director is responsible for day-to-day management of each division, including a staff of two and a budget in excess of $600,000; overall responsibility for operational and fiscal management; publications (including a referred journal and two newsletters), a major award program consisting of many awards; professional development programs that include traditional continuing education as well as online/virtual offerings and other initiatives, including an understanding of social networking technology.
