It is really the ability of a leader to unite opposing forces for the common good. How will you support the vision of Abraham Lincoln, "that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth". Why aren't they considering a flat tax or fair tax to fix our problems. Our current tax structure is very dated and needs a complete overhaul. We need to reduce taxes to be competitive globally and to also keep companies from moving offshore to reduce tax liabilities. Wouldn't a fair tax or flat tax do this? Also wouldn't it enable more fiscal responsibility for the Federal Government vices it continuing to grow organizations such as the IRS to chase these problems down? Tax reform has the potential to rectify many financial and economic issues and also provide needed social programs. One of the problems I have deciding is that even though Senator Obama has been campaigning I don't know much about him other than what he makes known. Recently information came out about his association with William Ayers, so I would like to ask Senator Obama if he would allow immediate access to his records during his years at Colombia and Harvard as well as allow us to find out about his years as a community organizer.
