blogger introduction
Greetings! My name is Anne Heidemann, and I’ll be blogging about the PLA Results Boot Camp 4 this week. I posted here a few times from ALA Annual this summer, about YALSA’s Got Tweens preconference, the Newbery/Caldecott banquet, and a session on PACs in the Library 2.0 World.
I’m the Children’s, Tween & Teen Services Department Head at the Canton Public Library in Canton, Michigan. In my free time I write about a random assortment of things over at LibrariAnne, and I knit, garden, play videogames, and occasionally play and sing in a punk band.
I’m very excited to see what this week will hold and to share it with you all here. I’m also excited to meet fellow blogger Nanette Donohue. We’ve been following each other on twitter for awhile and just realized a few days ago that we’ll both be blogging about the boot camp. Small library world!
I arrived tonight along with a libraryina, a friend of mine through our area’s library cooperative. She and I drove down from southeast Michigan and found a terrific place to eat somewhat by chance. We were planning to eat at the Great Lakes Brewing Company, but found that it was closed on Sundays, boo! I looked at Yelp (thank you, Blackberry/mobile web!) to see what recommendations were in the vicinity and we headed for the Pickwick, which turned out to have excellent food, no wait, and a relaxed but elegant atmosphere. I highly recommend the Cheddar Ale Soup.
