The PLA Blog | Official Blog of the Public Library Association

Introduction

Greetings to all the PLA blog readers!

I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Nate Hill, and I’m excited to be joining the team as a co-manager of the PLA blog. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to work with all of you subscribers and occasional visitors to get some quality idea-sharing and stimulating conversation going on here. You can expect to see some exciting changes on the blog, but don’t worry, all of the good stuff you’ve come to expect to find here will remain.

A little bit about me:

For a while, albeit sporadically, I’ve maintained a personal blog about the intersection of libraries, design, technology, art, and really anything that has been on my mind. That is something I do just for laughs in my spare time though. For work, I’ve served at Brooklyn Public Library since 2000. In my years here I’ve worked in 20 or more branches and done a little bit of everything, but I’m currently at the Bushwick Branch where I am doing my best to make this building into whatever kind of library the community wants it to be. The Bushwick community is fascinating and diverse; I’m fortunate to work in such an interesting location.

Please consider this post an invitation to submit your thoughts about what else you would like to see on the PLA blog. Just as your neighborhood library is a community-defined information resource, the contents and functionality of this blog can and will be determined by you and your comments.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
