Monroe Award ( http://www.ala.org/RUSATemplate.cfm?Section=rusaawards) given by the American Library Association’s Reference and User Services Association. Self-nominations are welcome. Applications must be received by Friday, December 15, 2006.
The Margaret E. Monroe Award, established in 1985, honors a librarian who has made significant contributions to library adult services. The individual may be a practicing librarian, a library and information science researcher or educator, or a retired librarian who has brought distinction to the profession’s understanding and practice of services to adults.

The criteria for “significant contributions” will be judged by such factors as publications, leadership, measurable effectiveness of programs, influence on others, and creative and innovative concepts. Nominations letters may include letters of recommendation and supporting materials.

LESS THAN 3 WEEKS REMAINING TO SUBMIT YOUR NOMINATIONS; the committee has received only a few nominations so don’t miss out on this opportunity for recognition of excellence in library adult services!  Now is the chance to add someone’s name to a list of recipients spanning twenty years!  This award will be presented at the ALA Annual Conference in Washington, D.C.
