This is the Hynes Convention Center, third floor, looking down on the second floor to the Grand Opening of the exhibit halls. Doors opened at 4 PM to the sound of bagpipes, and there were strategically placed free hors’d'ouevres and cash bars.
My strategy for successful exhibit hall navigation in a crowd like this? Go all the way to the END and work BACKWARDS. Hynes has 2 levels, so I went to the 3400 aisle on the second floor, which was nearly deserted. The first floor was still packed by the time I made it downstairs an hour later, and by the 700 aisle I was wiped out.
