Belated Opening Session Rant
March 23rd, 2006 by Louise AlcornI didn’t get a chance to blog yesterday, thanks to exhaustion and general merriment. I thought about adding a comment to Brian’s post. Logical, since I was sitting next to him, annoying him with the same comments 
But here’s my two cents (not on the expense account):
For heaven’s sake, I get that you’re excited to be introducing the lovely and talented Linda Ellerbee, but please don’t applaud right next to the microphone! You get, right, that we know how to applaud, and you’re just freaking out the sound guys?
That said, I adore Linda Ellerbee. Always have. As I mentioned to her when she signed my book, she is one of my favorite ‘tough broads’. She understood the compliment.
I’m off to watch Google do magic.
(brief intro: I’m a public library reference librarian in the wilds of Iowa, and like Jessamyn, I teach old people to use email. I also teach them to find each other on match.com, but that’s a whole other story…)
