Random thoughts on ALA and San Antonio
January 24th, 2006 by Ryan Langhurst2. A discussion group that has no agenda other than the subject topic can quickly turn into a good hour and a half discussion.
3. In San Antonio, people think 60 degrees is cold.
4. Wifi comes at a cost around here. Only free wifi near the conference was in the convention center and it was very spotty.
5. Nice to see flowers blooming in January.
6. Reminded me that I don’t need to be connected to my laptop, treo, blog, bloglines or anything else in the online world as much as I sometimes am. Nice to have some time for reflective thought.
7. Steers and Beers has great steak. My personal recommendation is the top sirloin, medium.
8. There are librarians everywhere! All types, shapes and sizes.
9. Unrelated to number 8 - there are pigeons everywhere. They just want to be your friend, even more so if you have food.
10. Sun in January! Yippee!

Steers & Beers, yum! I had strip steak & shrimp and a bottle of Red Stripe - sadly, we were there before the karaoke started.

The sirloin is indeed excellent at Steers and Beers. I ate there with a friend of mine who lives in San Antonio that Sunday afternoon/evening during Midwinter.
