Yeah, It’s Hot
June 24th, 2005 by Liza HickeyStepping off the train into the rather sweltery-ish humidity, I immediately started looking around for librarians. Hmm… she looks organized, bet she’s a librarian. Aha! That group over there, one of them has a WorldCat shoulderbag. They’re everywhere! I’m giddy with anticipation. My hotel, the Chicago Hilton, was very welcoming, serving out nice little ice-cold cups of punch to everyone checking in. (Inevitable question: was it spiked? I don’t think so.) My room is just down the hall from a couple of conference rooms, so I truly feel right smack in the middle of things. The free shuttle to McCormick place is very nice (although I hear some of them aren’t air conditioned… note to self to avoid those!) I actually meant to get a few pics of the registration line (it was HOT there too! Air conditioning, please? I wonder if the exhibit hall tomorrow will be stuffy….) but I’m glad another blogger managed to get some snaps in. Tonight will be some socializing fun with Chattylibrarians and NexGen librarians. So far, a great way to kick off the weekend!
