Wifi update

I walked around the conference center and attached Hyatt, asking everyone I could in search of an answer to the flat-fee wifi question. As far as I have been able to surmise from my discussions with the hotel/conference center folks, there is no such arrangement. Wifi is available in several places in the hotel and near the conference center for $9.95/day. I haven’t run any of this by any ALA staff yet, however, since I haven’t been able to find anyone yet, so there may be more to the story. I’ll keep you posted.

On the upside, the Chinatown Branch of the Chicago Public Library is only about 5 blocks away, and the wifi there is free. The very awesome librarian at the helpful Chicago Public Library information booth here in the McCormick has very handy maps of all of the branches, and the maps given out by the Office of Tourism booth here also note the branches, so finding a library near your hotel shouldn’t be too hard.
