To all of our readers, welcome to the ALA 2005 experience through PLA Blog! And to our intrepid PLA Blog conference bloggers, we thank you for joining us for this intrepid experience.
I’m in the McCormick Place Conference Center *right now*, having arrived in Chicago not but 2 hours ago, coming to you from the Internet Cafe (which doesn’t have an enormous line… yet).
When I blogged ALA Midwinter, I was a recent library grad looking for work and blogging my brains out. This time around, I’m a part-time reference librarian for Reading Public Library (hey ladies!), co-manager of the PLA Blog, and author of my own blog at LibraryTechtonics.info.
After I’ve tracked down information on the rumors of flat-fee wifi in the McCormick for the duration of the conference (I promise, I’ll report back on that), I’ll be wrangling a few more things for the PLA Blog, and hopefully taking some pictures of the conference hall to post before the joint really gets jumpin’ tomorrow. For now, I will tell you that the librarians have indeed arrived in Chicago, even if they haven’t all congregated here just yet.
