The theme of this year’s NJLA conference, meeting next week from April 11 – 13, is “The 3 R’s: The Right to Read, The Right to Learn, The Right to Grow“. Preregistration is closed, but you can register on-site.

Sophie Brookover, a librarian in New Jersey, shared a few program picks she’s looking forward to:

  • The Visible Librarian: Marketing & Advocacy
  • Electronic Communication & Teens: Blogging, e-mail, IM, Chat, etc.
  • The Accidental Library Manager
  • Achieving Employee Buy-In for a Customer Service Initiative
  • Lives Are At Stake (a program about outreach & services to the GLBTQ teen community)

This conference is also featuring morning yoga and meditation sessions, as well as a Trivia Bowl pitting librarian against librarian to see whose knowledge reigns supreme, all in good fun.

[Thanks Sophie!]
