Marin County Free Library Celebrations

Marin County Free Library in California is celebrating National Library Week (NLW) with a festive schedule of events, including:

  • How to Rebloom That Beautiful Orchid
  • How to Get the Most out of the Digital Library: Tutorial for Homeschooling Parents
  • Meet Phil Frank (creator of the comic strip Farley and author of numerous books)
  • P & T Puppet Theatre presents “The Pie-rats of Penn’s Aunt”
  • Bilingual Storytime (cuentos en español y inglés)

and so much more. To supplement their programming, they offer an annotated list of web links about libraries (including the history of their local library), librarians, and reading.

In conjunction with the NLW programming is their recognition of Young People’s Poetry Week April 11 – 17, by broadcasting a new poem on their Dial-a-Story phone line everyday.
