Free Library of Philadelphia receives stay of execution
Judge halts further library cuts until budget process ends
“The next 10 libraries to become ‘express branches’ received a stay of execution from Common Pleas Court Judge Matthew D. Carrafiello.
Carrafiello ordered a temporary injunction on the library service cutbacks scheduled for April 8. The injunction allows for the city’s budget process to take place after which the judge will issue his ruling.”
