wireless @ the Westin (password too!)

Yo fellow bloggers and wireless addicts (that’s me)! Just a 411 to spread the good word: wifi @ the Westin! Signal’s nice and strong in the lobby and on the second floor, where most of the conference rooms are located.

When you first open your browser, you’ll be directed to the hotel’s proxy page. Fill out whatever name you’d like; the password is wireless.

Having sat in the Sheraton lobby for a few hours last night, I much prefer the atmosphere of the Westin lobby. For one, it’s far less crowded. The decor is pleasantly neutral, and there are plenty of half-occupied leather couches and nicely upholstered chairs to spread out on. You can plug your laptop into one few outlets scattered throughout the floor. There’s even a faux fireplace to add to the place’s coziness.

Sometimes it pays to be nice. Thank you, nice concierge man!
